T.A DÉCOR fragments the spaces of GDL525 into sets for the mise-en-scène of a chamber play, breaking the domestic into the theatrical. Themes of love, ownership, property, self-hood, attraction-repulsion loop on each other as overly romanticized bourgeois fetishes, in the articulation of a new-realist narcoleptic tragedy on the nightmare edge of the sheltered world.
The piece marks the first presentation of T.A DÉCOR, a nom de plume for the collaborative practice of Rin Suemitsu and Filippo Tocchi, producing music, text, objects and scenography for context specific mise en scènes, stagings and scenarios, working with an ensemble and a revolving cast of collaborators. T.A DÉCOR has been conceived and developed together with performer and long term collaborator Mina Tomic at GDL525 over the course of the year.
